Stirrups and Stirrup Leathers

Stirrups and leathers are easy to overlook until something feels wrong — a stiff leather, a tread that twists your foot, or safety that fails when you need it. Barefoot’s range covers safety stirrups, Western and baroque styles, soft and dressage leathers, and fenders with optional knee rolls. As Barefoot Baltics we help riders in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania finish a saddle setup that keeps the leg steady without blocking the horse.

Safety stirrups (caged, with rubber bands or hinged joints, in aluminium or stainless steel) are built so the foot can release in a fall. Trail and 90-degree designs suit riders who spend long hours in the saddle or want a solid platform. Western stirrups (Simple, Visalia) and baroque Sevilla stirrups match their saddle styles. Caged safety stirrups are available for children.

Leathers matter for both length and feel: soft leathers ease pressure on the calf, dressage leathers give a classic line, and Western straps with buckles at the bottom suit Western saddles. Fenders — narrow, wide or with knee rolls — help keep the leg quiet, especially on all-purpose and jumping saddles. Matching decorative fenders are available for the Arizona Nut.

If you are new to a treeless Barefoot saddle, we often suggest slightly shorter leathers at first while you settle into the seat. Matching stirrups or leathers to an existing model? Tell us which saddle you ride — we will point you to the right attachment and length.
